Appraisal of Antiques in Italy

This course enable students to specialize in the different methods of studying, assessing value and repairing damaged objects yet maintaining the original composition and idea. The course will teach students how to correctly evaluate the origin and age of antique objects and furniture. The evolution of the techniques, and of the styles from the 15th to the 19th centuries will be studied, with references to regional styles, court styles and the history of interior furnishings.

During the course, visits to museums, galleries, public and private collections and restoration laboratories will be arranged.

Although the Appraisal of Antiques Course can be taken alone, other students usually have chosen to combine the Italian language Courses and the Appraisal of Antiques Course and that's why we’ve created the Intensive Art Courses (Italian + Art).
