Florence will receive Fazil Say

Florence, Italy - World famous Turkish pianist, Fazıl Say will perform in the open air concert part of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, an important festival in Europe, at the famous Piazza della Signoria in Florence, Italy on Saturday night.

Say will be performing with Italy's leading orchestra, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, led by renowned maestro Zubin Mehta as he interprets Tchaikovsky's Concerto no. 1 for piano and orchestra op. 23'. The concert is expected to attract a huge number of music enthusiasts as well as journalists from Turkey.

The annual opera festival, which is regarded as the first music festival in Italy, started in 1933 with the objective of presenting contemporary operas and reviving forgotten ones in visually dramatic productions.

Performances will take place in the Teatro Comunale, Teatro Piccolo and the historic Teatro della Pergola.

Among participating artists are famed composers, maestros and opera artists such as Richard Strauss, Paul Hindemith, Bela Bartok, Igor Stravinsky, Herbert von Karajan, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta and Maria Callas.
